What type of rear ends do you have? Are they identical except for the axle tube attachments? I don't think the axle tubes come out easy and you are probably better off removing any necessary brackets and welding on to your new axle. I just put a 14-bolt in my '55 out of an '89 3/4 ton and it only took about an hour with a cutoff wheel, grinder and air chisel to remove some spring perches and a few other attachments. The fit-up and welding took a lot longer. Pinion angle was the key.
