Rechroming isn't cheap. For what it will cost, your original idea of buying a repo and keeping the original grill is probably cheaper. That way, you can change them out every time you want a new look. Of course you know you're creating a monster here because once you put the chrome grill in, then you'll want chrome bumpers and then stainless trim around the windshield and windows. Then what, OMG chrome runningboards! Before you know it, you've chromed the brake drums and remove a tire everytime you take it to the local car shows. It's an addiction!
