If the points are closed you will not see a light. Sorry it takes 2 people for my way, first and most important make sure test light works, 2nd take test light and put on neg side of coil as eng. is turned over light should flash if no flash remove wire from poss. side of coil and look for light to work
One thing I learned always always make sure test light works
If you have no power to wire stat tracing back
have fun it aint that hard
