FLAPS = friendly local auto parts store
NAPA, Advance and so forth still stock a lot of the mechanical parts like brakes, master cylinders, brake lines, water pumps, gaskets, etc..
Sometimes you might have to order whatever it is that you need, but they have it in their system.
Like Wrenchbender wrote tho', sometimes the local stores are not any cheaper than the mail order/internet vendors.
