| | | | Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 | I wouldn't think that you would be able to put too many balls in a saginaw box, they will only hold a set amount. I'm thinking that you may have put too much preload on the bearings. This is adjusted by the large plug on the bottom of the box, not the screw on the side. You may wnat to try re-adjusting the bearing preload before you tear it apart. i'm not certain about the '46, but the '55 1 1/2 ton has 53 balls per circuit, 106 total.
