Big Peep,

You can do several things to gain power steeing on a solid-axle truck.

1) Use the oiginal GM-type PS - No change to steeing column. To see what that looks like, have a look at:

http://chevy.tocmp.com/1955truck2shop/55ctsm0914.htm

You can purchase one of these as a kit. See:

http://www.classicperform.com/power1.html

OR:

Note: You can fab one up for youself using C-2/C-3 Covette parts if you don't want to spend that much. That's what I did.

2) Use a kit with a Saginaw PS unit. Sits way forward, you have to move the shocks, and you have to do something about the steering column. Have a look at:

http://www.classicperform.com/tech_articles/Power-Steering-Trucks/Power-Steering-Trucks.htm

----------------------------
3) Use a reverse-rotation Dodge PS box located thru-the-fame close to firewall. See:
http://www.partsamerica.com/Product...amp;ptset=A&sourcepage=SEARCHRESULTS

NOTE: THERE ARE BOTH ROTATION-TYPE BOXES AVAILABLE FOR THE DODGE TRUCKS - HAS TO BE REVERSE-ROTATION.
In this swap, the steering column has to be changed or redone as well.

Good Luck!
