The serial number you give is the wrong format for a '54+ engine. It suggests an earlier model. The AL prefix would be for a 235 from a '41 COE, which would have had the updraft carb. However, an 848 head wouldn't work on a '41 engine. Double check the serial number and try to find the block casting number.
