I own a '54 3600. This image from the factory assembly manual shows the throttle control cable attached to the accelerator lever rod.
http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f91/serb28/Carmen%20Jones/9d7b024c.jpg The PO of my truck had the throttle cable hooked up to where the choke control gets attached and no choke cable. I moved the throttle cable to where it is shown in pic and also added a new choke control cable.
My problem? With the throttle connected to the accelerator lever rod the throttle knob is pushed out every time I accelerate. Also, the throttle cable does not "slide" back in when I lift off the gas pedal. Obviously, something is not right!
Any thoughts?
