Your rear drums slide over your wheel studs and cover your brake shoe assembly. Wheel slids over and bolts to that effectively trapping the drum to the backing plate. Your fronts are a bit different. They have inner and outer bearings that slid over the spindle which has a big a** washer called a keeper that is then trapped by a big a** nut w/ a cotter pin. That nut is not torqued down but tightened to JUST take the play out of the wheel but allowing it to turn freely. | | |
