It really depends on where and how fast you drive it. I bought Les Schwab tubes and tires w/highway tread 4 years ago for about $100 per tire(replaced the ORIGINAL tires). They ride just fine. However, now I have an OD and can cruise at 75 and the tires don't cut it at that speed. So now I'm getting radials. If I were only to drive it at a max of 60-65 like before with mostly in town driving I would stick with the original-like tires and tubes because I also like the correct "look". No matter what, radials will make it a smoother ride if that matters to you.
