Another alternative is to run a 261 cam. Higher lift and longer duration than the 235 cam, but keeps the torque in the usable RPM range. I put one in my new 235 and it runs quite nicely. No rump in the idle, though.
Oh, and I've never quite known why, but I've always been told not to run a reground cam. I guess one reason would be cost. About $70 for reground, or about $110 for new (what I paid for mine). For that difference I'll go new every time.
