Hey everyone,
Here's one more reason to love your 'bolt:
I was looking through the service manual of a relatively modern vehicle yesterday and saw that the carburetor has a "tamper resistant" idle mixture screw.
What the heck?!? Tamper resistant? How can it be tampering if it's
YOUR OWN D**N CAR ?
It reminded me how much I love the style of construction of our trucks. Everything is serviceable, designed to be adjusted, and designed to last a lifetime instead of just until the warranty expires.
What was I doing on my '42 the same day I saw that service manual? I was fabricating replacements for missing pieces of my parking brake. It's now working perfectly for the first time in who knows how many decades. Do you suppose that counts as tampering?
