Double that ($) for a rebuild and then there's the "ebay factor". Same amount of splines. These Borg-Warner transmissions have a .70 overdrive gear resulting in this formulation for my final drive .70 X 3.90 ('57 open rear differential) = 2.73.
Perfect gearing for highway speed and fuel economy. I have had this transmission installed in this configuration on my '49 1/2 ton now for 6 years+.
