Volts is volts. It doesn't matter to the sending unit. You are correct that it requires a 30 ohm sending unit. You can get them (a universal) from about any supplier for 30 to 50 dollars. I have one I bought & used on my 38 until I found an original. It works fine but will probably need a longer float wire if your tank stands on edge. Mine laid flat so I had to shorten the wire. You can make one out of a coat hanger. I'd probably let it go for quite a bit less than a new one if you're interested.
