"Okay fellas, I had my truck up on jack stands and put it in drive with the tires on. The tires did not move with out giving it gas. Once I gave it a good amount of gas they turned. When I let off they stopped turing. Here's the "kicker". When I put it in reverse they turned without giving it any gas. Im alittle confused now.

Well, you may not like my thoughts…I think the trans may be toast. When you gas it to go in forward, do the RPM’s flair up, then you move, but in reverse you just move? Makes no difference to a stall converter if the trans is in forward or reverse, the flywheel and input shaft always turn the same direction. Reverse gear ratio on a TH350 is in between first and second, so I don’t think that’s a factor. (1st= 2.52, 2nd=1.52, 3rd=1.00, and reverse=1.93) Check the fluid, is it low? Fluid should be hot for most accurate reading, the cooler it is the lower it will read, but some should always show on the stick. (Vehicle must be running in park or neutral while you check it). Look at the color of the fluid by dripping some off the dipstick on a white piece of paper. It should be red-ish, not brown. Smell it, it should not have a strong “burnt” smell. Also, I think that there is what’s called a “sprag” (one way roller) that’s in play in forward when you start out. (In the transmission) It could be slipping/failing. But if you pull the shifter into manual low (all the way back/down) a clutch kicks in to hydraulically hold low gear. You could see if that makes any difference.
