As far as diesel swaps go for our trucks.
The Cummins 4 cylinder is probably the most practical.

However, I am doing a 4-53T with 10 speed Roadranger, and I thought it would be different.... Sounds like someone beat me to it.
But that won't stop me from finishin mine the way I want to.

I am getting colser to having a running truck without a cab. I will go find some parts tomorrow, or is that today now? And in a few weeks I will have most everything I need to stick it all together, atleast the mechanical parts. The pretty parts will take some time yet.
