Davey, drop by your local parts store, you can pick up a set of bolt-on underdash gauges for around $40. Get you back on the road.
Also, on my '72, my fan didn't work either. Pulled off the connector, lightly sanded the terminals, and presto! Fan worked ...two speeds anyway.
Just take it a little at a time, and enjoy your truck!
