Thanks for the tips. My neighbor saw me welding some of the tears and loaned me his hammers and dollies. I was able to make pretty good progress on the dings and dents but I am at a loss on the rot where the fender and running board meet. I am thinking of welding a peice of sheet metal to the inside and using a little bondo. Don't know if that is a good idea or not. I would like to find the patches for that spot because they are shaped and have the bolt holes all set. For now it is a great experiment in sweat equity.
