I have a 61 235 in a 51 chevy truck. It has always been a real pain to stop an oil leak coming from the pushrod cover on the side of block. I was just noticing a friends 53 235 and our covers are installed different from each other. Mine has the flange that goes around the outer edge of the cover facing the block. It kinda wraps over the gasket almost hiding it. His has the flange facing away from the block. On his, the dent that is just behind the distributor is pointing toward the distributor, mine is pointing toward the block. They are both painted on their respective outer side and show no sign of ever being painted on the other side, which makes me think that they have never been installed any other way. Which way is correct? thanks alot!!! slowgoer
