| | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 72 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 72 | I was given this trans and I want to see if it is a good trans to use for my truck project along with a 327 v8 that I have.
I was told it is a saginaw 4 speed out of a car. It has a cast iron case (not aluminum like a muncie). It has two grooves in the tail shaft.
I found numbers on the right (passenger side) main case as follows: there was an A15 by itself, an NF C4 and GM 338935.
I found numbers on the rear tail shaft section:
6261884 and GM3.
I found numbers on the shift cover plate: 4GM6261886 and a weird looking RP (maybe engraved or stamped in, not raised letters like the others.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
