My '42 pulled great on a car trailer, even though it almost maxed out the trailer weight limits. The trailer most likely could have handled an additional half a ton or so, but there are a lot of other things to consider when determining what is safe, and what is not. Tires, load distribution, and the weight and wheel base of the tow vehicle are all equally important.
