Not certain about LA but perhaps one of the Bolters from there will chime in here. Here in GA they normally do not issue a title for the older vehicles unless you really want one. I considered this for the 59 but nixed the idea when they said I would have to surrender the original CA title. (aka Pink slip) I'd rather keep the CA title for historical reasons.
