I need help identifying the tranny that I pulled out of my 52 chevy ½ ton pu (along with the engine, a '54 235) last weekend.
Transmission seems to have two sets of casting numbers… one on the engine end 3845122 D2456 and one on the drive shaft end D2955 3707195... no "torque tube"
The guy at the transmission shop that I took it to told me that he didn’t recognize it and that he was pretty sure that it wasn’t original to that truck. (I tend to believe him since #1 he's older than the truck, #2 he has a restored ’41 chevy truck he drives sitting in front of his shop, and #3 he showed me another tranny that he said came from chevy '52 pickup… and it didn't look anything like mine... it was “tall”, mine is “long”)... thanks!
