My late father-in-law only had Chevies and his latest was a 86 or 87 C10. It had 3 speed column shift. It also had the new 4.3 V6 with a 4-bbl carburetor. He had always had straight 6's so the first time he looked under the hood to check the oil or something he saw that V motor and went back to the dealer mad as _ell because they had sold him an 8 instead of a 6. They got him calmed down but he still didn't like it.
