I have a 1950 4400 1 1/2 ton. The wheels have the ring on the outside lip. Some people call them "widow makers". They are 10 lug wheels with 4 3/4" hub. (20" wheels) I have been unable to find any one piece wheels that will fit. Does anybody know where I can find some at a reasonable price? I have checked some web sites where you can have them custom made but can't afford to pay $180.00 ea for 6 wheels plus $107 ea per tire!! No one will work with the rims due to danger and insurance. Would it be possible to weld the ring to the wheel to make them one piece?? Would I still be able to get the tire on the wheel? Would it knock the wheel to far out of balance to run? It's pretty bad to have a running truck with no way to roll!!!
