I have a question on multi carb chokes that the answer will probably be so simple I'll slap myself on the forehead and say "duh". There is a fellow that has a dual carb setup on his 235 that just one carb has a choke and with the plate fully closed it will roll black smoke and choke down. Why doesn't it just draw air through the other carb? I used to have a corvair (quit laughing) in the 60's and I used a carb syncronizer that fit down over one carb while you adjusted the other carb to maximum engine vacuum then switched to the other carb and did the same. As I recall it didn't cause the engine to choke down. Also had a 59 chev factory tricarb 348 that just the center carb had a choke, and a 54 vette triple side draft setup in an AD truck that just had one choke. Why does this work?
