Now that I have Miss Lucille(1966 C60) running down the road, I have another opportunity I need your help with.

The truck has a twin hoist dump bed that runs off a pto driven pump. I will be mounting a winch on the bed to use for dragging logs up onto it. I need to be outside the cab to hook up and run the winch while at the same time raising and lowering the bed.

I need to be able to increase and maintain an engine speed above idle to get the pump running fast enough to raise and lower the bed. This can be accomplished with a dash mounted throttle cable that can be pulled out to set engine speed before leaving the cab. I can run the pump with remote controls mounted on the side of the frame. I have an F700 with such a throttle but it is a 360 4bbl and the linkage for the manual throttle is very complicated. I have not been able to figure out the same type of linkage on a 292 six with a Rochester B transversly mounted on the manifold.

Does anyone have any suggestions short of leaning a brick against the accelerator. I would like to duplicate the F700 linkage. I thought some of the older Chevy trucks had a manual throttle on the dash and I would be interested in how they work.
