Before I put the bed in my '46 I looked around and couldn't seem to find jack squat on the web for information for anything older than a '47... no instructions, no guidelines, no helpful hints as to how to even go about it.. altho in a thread I started on the subject several AD truck owners shared their practices and methods.
Seems like the AD and later trucks are the hot items nowadays, and the '46 and later trucks just don't have the same kind of info available.. most vintage parts dealers like LMC don't go any farther back than '47.
I ended up doing a hillbilly barnwood re-floor.. if you end up finding the info, please post it here in this thread.. it might help somebody in the future!
