Many body shops in our area will resell paint to DIYers. The benefit of buying from a body shop is that they generally enjoy giving you some tips and you can benefit from their experience. Ask questions. I'm surprised your guy hasn't told you what he likes to shoot. From our limited experience (about 5 trucks), the differences and ease of applications between different paints can be pretty dramatic.
