I have modern (?) 15 x 8 , 6 lug wheels on my '52 and installed the clips to be able to use the original style hubacps and trim rings.

I drilled and tapped four 10-32 holes in each wheel and used 1/2" spacers to get the clips to the proper elevation to engage the rim of the hubcaps. A little adjustment is necessary, but anyone with a 'bolt' knows how to bent and tweak a little to make stuff fit.
