I have huck brakes on my 46, and as long as your shoe linings are good, there really aren't too many bad things to say about them.
Basically, they're drum brakes that put equal pressure on both shoes, unlike modern "Bendix" drum brakes, which puts more pressure on one shoe than the other.
And that's pretty much all I have to say about them. [shrugs]
They're brakes. You've seen one set, you've seen 'em all.
