there are a couple problems w/ that swap - the 58 frame is longer than the 5-7 by about 1.5" so the bumper will clear the fenders properly [why there's a different splash piece added between grill and bumper on 58-9] and the inner fenders are different to take the different hood hinges for the 58-9 - also the mount points for the 8-9 hood hinges are slightly different than the earlier cabs, and you'd hafta use the whole 58 front - but the body lines are the same, fender mounts the same

can be done, but not worth the struggle - I put a 56 cab w/ 57 nose on a 58 frame - frame had to be cut as shown

there are other slight differences in the 58-9 cab firewall needed for the optional V8 accelerator linkage
