My 67 C10 has a 250 in it now. I like the power OK, and it'll haul anything I throw at it, but it's very lethargic when trying to tow my big honkin' boat, and I wouldn't even try to tow my delta with it. I want to put a 292 in there for some better low end torque, as I will be putting in highway gears in the rearend (3.08's or 3.23's) and I don't want to sacrifice the low-end that I have now with the 250 and 3.73's. As it is now, it's a bit hard to start off if the bed is full of stuff, and I couldn't imagine with the 3.08's what it will be like. What needs to be done to convert engines?
