Big Pop,
Don't look for a bill in the mail. It would appear that it isn't getting gas. Did it happen all by itself, or after some tinkering. If it is a gas problem, the flow chart says; is there good clean gas in a vented tank? Is the fuel pump delivering the gas to the carburetor? Is the float chamber full? Are the jets clear? Would a exhaust restriction (the old potato) cause this. Will the engine run on high speed, but not idle? After it dies, can you look down the carburetor, work the throttle and see the accelerator pump squirt. As you answer each question, you will work your way to the solution, it's called troubleshooting. The car is dumb...you are smart. You will prevail!
Stuart.
