Sorry about my earlier post, I had it in my head that this was about power steering not brakes......
For my 52 1 ton I used a kit from
http://www.hydroboost.com/ to convert to a hydrobooster, (runs off a power steering pump), still under the floor.
Give Paul a call and ask about the kit he put together for Grigg's 1952 Chevy truck.

I can't say enough about Paul and the service he provides. He was able to answer any questions I had. I bought a rebuilt booster from him, a few thousand miles later it was leaking slightly, so I called him up. I was driving near his shop, he made time to personally exchange my leaking one for a completely new unit, instillation and all. (he no longer offers rebuilt units, only new ones)
My brakes are great, I just look at the pedal and the truck slows. I don't think you can beat a hydrobooster.
