I just put the rubber on my '54 inner fenders. I used some glue and then some modern - not as heavy staple that came with the rubber from Chevy Duty. I just used needle nose pliers to thread the new staples into the old holes, poking it through the rubber is the hardest part. I used some dental tools I had picked up at a yard sale. Once you have poked the two staple sides through, just bend them over with larger pliers. It worked well in conjunction with the glue. Good Luck
