I tore the old bed out about 8 years ago, and had my brother inlaw make up some white oak boards ( I saved 1 for a pattern ). I finally got around to putting it back together 1 year ago, I srapped the boards down, got it square and drilled holes from underneath. I then trimmed for wheels. I probably am not much help, but Owell 
I'm older than my truck but it's smarter than me! 66 GMC 3/4 ton fleetside 283, turbo 400.
