if the same number appears on the 327 and 350 blocks, either the 327 is actually a 350, or your reading the block casting number, which may be the same for 350/327
the number you want to identify that exact engine is on a small pad that projects out from the block right below the head/valve cover on the passengers side - this pad was where they stamped the exact engine buildup info as it was being built, and it appears nowhere else - "serial numbers" were not duplicated!
