Thought I'd check around and research a bit though. Seems like I read somewhere about people who've used AC compressors for an air source. Plenty of those in the boneyard!
As far as I know the bags will carry quite a load. I talked to one guy with a bagged Toyota truck who said he hauls more than the factory intended on a regular basis.
