Yes the electric will not change in speed when you tromp on the pedal or climbing a grade, but the vacumm works just fine with me and its a great talk piece.
I'm sure I would probably change to electric if I lived in an area like the great northwest where it rains all the time. But here in the SF Bay Area it doesn't rain too much and I try to refrain from driving the truck in the dead of winter on a daily basis (like I am now).
