This is my story. I tore apart my truck when the 216 went bad, bought a 235 from a guy in wisconsin, never changed an engine before, but love old chevy trucks, dad had two 54 half tons. put the new/used motor in, fixed brakes, rewired the whole truck, (never did any of this before). did alot of this work in very cold weather, all of it with no help, everyone kept saying it would never run again, ran up a fat credit card bill buying parts (which were all great from Jim Carter's). Here's how it turned out. Truck runs good, but I'm gonna have an old mechanic I know fine tune it (along with the brakes). still needs glass, some patching on the body, weather stripping, and then it will be a solid, everyday truck. what I got out of it was a confidence in myself I never had before. If any of you have ever rewired under the dash of one of these trucks, you know what I mean! I wanna do it again. Thanks for the opportunity to express myself, my friends and family kinda don't get it except my wife, god bless her.
