I try to look at a project's "hassle-to-benefit-ratio." Yeah, I'll save money by media blasting it myself, but it is a miserable job and you end up with lead-based paint dust floating around the yard. Besides, blasting only removes paint, rust and, with a bit of effort, bondo. And only in the area you can reach. Seam sealer and undercoating will require a different, yet equally miserable job. Dipping is the best way to go...
