When I take a body to Redi strip, they bake it at 600 degrees for about 8 hours, depending on condition. Paint, bondo, seam sealer, undercoating will all turn to ash. The dipping process removes the rust, not the paint... When I trailered the porsche body home last spring, it rained like an SOB... I wiped down the body with dilute phosphoric acid(JASCO) to remove the "flash" rust, and then heated the seams with a heat gun to remove the moisture. I've never had a problem with blistering or "acid" leaching out from the seams to ruin a paint job.
