Hello Ted, I also have a 46 3/4 ton DR series . The tie rods ends are the same as the 1/2 ton. In fact, the tie rod ends are the same for 1937-47 All Commercial except DS & ES 1 tons.
To remove the ball from the steering arms, center punch and drill the base of the ball. I think a 1/2 inch drill is about right. Once you remove enough of the base, you can use a punch to drive the ball out.
