This transmission came out of a '66 5-ton Chev, attached to a 292. Lettering on it reads NPC96051. It is a 5-speed. Would it be overdrive or straight drive in 5th ?
I have a '58 GMC 2.5 ton with a (stuck) 270 and muncie SM420. Would the 292 and 5-speed be an easy swap or would the tranny be too large for my 'flat floor'?
Any info or links to sites greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Royzell
