My experience trying to change rims has been fruitless so far. I tried 16 1/2 by 7's to replace the original 17 by 5 split rims. No good, tierod interference. My shop manual says they also came with 16 inch rims, but I can't see houw they would fit. Many here have them, so they must. Does anyone know who put the tallest, skinniest one-piece 8-lug steel rims on as factory equipment? Here in Calgary, no one will touch my split rims, nor do they have 17 inch tubes available.
Current fleet (subject to change w/o notice) \'49 GMC 3/4-Ton , 60 Austin Healey Frog-eye Sprite (some assembly required), 2011 Dodge Avenger, 2015 Jeep Cherokee. No, they don't all run. My other ride is a (B737)no, (B767)no, A320.... Update... was Embraer E190, now Boeing B787. Knowledge is a wonderful thing, but ignorance means you don't know you can't do something.
