I am sure that you will find this somewhere in all the threads. In 1929, Chev brought out their 6 cylinder overhead valve motor. Ford was in the process of coming out with their flathead V8. Some Chevy detractors made fun of the new Chevy motor, calling it the cast iron wonder and also the stovebolt motor. That is because all the sheet metal on the motor was held in place by bolts, similar to that used on the old stoves. In time, the motor gained great respect for it's simplicity and rugged dependability.
