Don L- I have installed an 84 GMC front crossmember in my 49 sub. Its one heck of a lot of work but you will end up with a TRUCK front end which includes independent front suspension, power disc brakes and power steering. Also the radiator and front sheet metal will bolt back on using the original brackets and holes. There may be some difference in frames between 46 and 49 so I don't know if it is possible on your panel. Mine isn't on the road yet but I would be glad to send you some pics of the installation.
