Hello folks. Just dropped in to say hello. I've been watching from the back blocks for some time now. I've just been lucky enough to get a 1941 Chev half ton flatbed. The PO had an accident and wasn't able to drive the Chev for any longer than a few minutes at a time, so he had to reluctantly put it up for sale.
It has the original 216, 4 speed box, torque tube and 4.11 rear end. It has undergone a nut and bolt restoration. The motor has insert bearings, alloy pistons and has been bored out 0.060. It's been converted to 12 volt and has an alternator.
I've still got a few jobs to do. The door locks don't work, neither does the fuel guage. I also need to build a couple of polished timber storage boxes for the tray, fit a couple of auxilliary plugs for hazard lights, look at fitting seat belts. Thanks must go to Dusty for his advise before I bought the truck. It's going to be a daily driver. I'm sure that I'll have a thousand questions to post to you guys.
