Anyway, the story was about some idiot who attempted to rob a local Bank of America that had not yet opened for business. Let me post the text of the article and be done with it.
"Perhaps rule number one in the bank robber's handbook should be, "Make sure the bank has money."
Doing so could have saved a Marietta man a lot of trouble.
According to Kennesaw police, 38-year-old Michael Donald Marshall walked into the Bank of America at 2781 Cobb Parkway on Tuesday, announced that he had a gun and demanded $500.
Only problem was, the bank is in the final stages of construction.
"The tellers told the offender that the bank was not open for business and there is no money," said Kennesaw police spokesman Scott Luther.
Luther said arriving officers even noticed construction workers carrying their tools in and out of the bank.
Marshall stepped from behind a column outside the bank and told officers he was trying to rob the bank.
Luther said it "should have been obvious" to the suspect that the bank was still under construction.
Marshall was charged with armed robbery, and during the investigation, detectives discovered an outstanding Cobb County warrant for violating probation on a shoplifting charge. He was booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, where he remained this morning." | | | |
